Description
Crocea clams display some of the most dazzling pattern arrays of any of the Tridacna species. Gorgeous combinations of wavy green, aqua and gold. These are the smallest of the giant clams, reaching sizes of 6 inches. Often found burrowed into the rocks throughout the Indo Pacific, this species actually dig their way into the rockwork, leaving only their colorful mantles exposed. They appreciate very bright lighting and to be placed on live rock rather than sandbeds. Though these are small specimens, we find them to be remarkably hardy. The reflection of colors will change as one views the mantle from different angles.
