Description
Orange Spotted Rabbitfish are an exciting addition to the home aquarium, with an amazing ability to rapidly change color and an insatiable appetite for eating nuisance algae. These are one of the fastest growing species we work with in aquaculture, but do tend to be very seasonal in availability. They are incredibly good algae eaters, keeping your rockwork free from hair algae and other undesirable algae types. They are very peaceful fish, adapting well to aquariums with fish of all sizes and temperaments. They can be a bit shy at first, quickly retreating to a crevice or cave to hide and exchanging their silvery orange spots for a dark, dramatic camouflage pattern. Orange Spotted Rabbitfish reach sizes of up to 15” in length. Take care when handling or moving around this fish, as its dorsal spines can inflict a painful venomous sting.
