Horseshoe crabs are unique-looking arthropods with a hard exoskeleton, a long tail, and a horseshoe-shaped body:

AppearanceHorseshoe crabs have a dark brown or olive green exoskeleton, with a hinged shell that's divided into three sections: the prosoma (head), opisthosoma (abdomen), and telson (tail). They have 10 eyes scattered throughout their body, including several on the top of their prosoma and smaller eyes near the front of their carapace.

MovementHorseshoe crabs use their legs to move, and a pair of legs near their mouth act as pincers to pick up food. They also use their tails to steer through water, flip themselves over if they're knocked on their backs, and plow through sand and muck.

DietHorseshoe crabs are omnivorous and eat a variety of small animals, algae, worms, and mollusks. They don't have teeth or mandibles, so they crush their food between their legs and use their gizzard to grind it before swallowing.

- If you have an issue with something dying, we will make it right by refund or reshipment. We know buying livestock online can be tricky at times.
- We don't buy/sell micro pea sized livestock. All of our snails, crabs, etc we purchase Medium to X Large sizes. I hate buying clean up crews online and getting hundreds of small barely viable inverts.
- We check your shipping location before packing and include the appropriate number of heat/cold packs. Being a larger company we aren't afraid to spend more on shipping and packing to give your animals the best chance at thriving.
