It is ideal for first-timers who want to experience what it’s like to grow their own corals, as well as advanced reefers interested in a tank that won’t consume too much space or time.

Every piece of equipment incorporate into the MAX NANO G2 systems is REEF-SPEC - which is the criteria that represents the ideal conditions required in an aquarium for sustaining coral health and optimizing coral growth, based on Red Sea's 30 years of research on the needs of corals in artificial environments.
REEF-SPEC Lighting
Our long term research into the photobiological needs of corals in artificial environments has led to the REEF-SPEC lighting criteria, which is the basis for the lighting configurations used in all Red Sea aquarium systems.
REEF-SPEC Filtration
The heart of the MAX NANO G2 XXL filtration system is the MSK900 protein skimmer, which removes the vast majority of the waste produced by the aquarium inhabitants, as well as thoroughly oxygenating the water.
REEF-SPEC Circulation
The dual pumps of the MAX NANO G2 XXL provides REEF-SPEC water flow which is crucial for providing corals and other sessile invertebrates with the nutrients and minerals necessary for growth.
Features:
Surface Skimmer
The surface skimmer enables highly effective filtration by ensuring that only water from the aquarium surface is passed to the rear filtration compartment. The surface skimmer is easily removable for periodic cleaning.
Pumps Power Centers
The MAX NANO G2 XXL has 2 built-in power centers with conveniently located on/off switches for the skimmer and circulation pumps, enabling easy access for feeding and maintenance.
ReefLED Lighting
The MAX NANO G2 XXL incorporates 2 ReefLED 50 units, with a light intensity and spectrum that is 100% utilized by the corals, ensuring optimal coral growth and coloration. In addition, the ReefLED 50 has a Moonlight channel to provide low levels of light for reef-safe nighttime viewing.
Rotatable Rear Sump Screen
The rotatable screen allows easy access to the rear filtration compartment sump, while ensuring that the aquarium’s aesthetics are undisturbed.
Ultra Clear Glass
The MAX NANO G2 XXL has a rimless design and is made from 12 mm, ultra-clear glass which provides a superb viewing experience.
Micron Filter Bag
The 225 micron filter bag removes large waste particles from the water.
Protein Skimmer
The heart of the filtration system is the MSK900 protein skimmer, that efficiently removes organic waste from the water.
Two Multidirectional eyeball nozzles
The filtered water returns to the display tank via 2 multidirectional, adjustable eyeball nozzles, ensuring there are no stagnant spots within the aquarium.
Dedicated Media Chamber
The rear sump includes a media rack to house additional chemical filtration, such as Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC carbon.
Bubble Trap Sponges
The bubble trap sponges prevent air bubbles from returning to the aquarium.
Two Circulation Pumps
The two 1550 liter per hour Sicce return pumps circulate the entire system water volume about 10 times an hour.
Optional marine-spec plywood cabinet
The MAX NANO G2 XXL is available with an optional marine-spec plywood cabinet fronted with weatherproof epoxy painted doors, convenient push openers and soft close stainless steel hinges. MAX NANO cabinets are offered with Black or White exteriors.
Carbon
All MAX NANO models are supplied with 100 grams of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC carbon, enough to maintain crystal clear water for the first 2 months.
Nano-Mat Ready
The NanoMat provides you with enhanced mechanical filtration, thanks to an auto-advance fleece-roll mechanism that keeps your tank water crystal clear. * Optional add-on, purchased separately.
ReefATO+ Ready
The ReefATO+ provides you with an extremely reliable auto top-off system and a highly accurate temperature monitor and leak detector. * Optional add-on, purchased separately.
Fully equipped rear sump
The equipment in the rear sump is hidden behind a rotatable screen for easy access.
The water flows to the rear sump via a removable surface skimmer, and is filtered by a bespoke 225-micron filter sock, a MAX protein skimmer, and flows back to the aquarium through a media chamber, bubble trap and multidirectional, adjustable nozzles.
The REEF-SPEC circulation system includes 2 Sicce 1550 LPH return pumps that circulate the tank’s entire water volume about 10 times an hour.
The rear sump in the MAX NANO XXL system is ReefATO+ and NanoMat-ready.
