Absolutely essential!

This thing makes every water change and/or gravel cleanup a pleasure. Whether I just vacuum a bit, or I have to do a water change. It's not a hassle to start the syphon or struggle with suction. Also the led light is very handy. Works just right, it's worth the investment! I wish they sold extensions for the tube, tho.

Doesn't work as expected

puts the dirty debris back into the tank after you turn it off. I realize it is a gravel cleaner only however the debris it picks up goes back into the tank after you turn off the cleaner.
