Shipping & Ordering

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes!  We offer free shipping on the Majority of everything we sell, but with a minimum purchase order.  For example shipping is free on Dry Good Orders Over $39, Live & Refrigerated Foods Over $40, Live Animals, Corals, Fish, Inverts Over $179.  Frozen Food does not have a free shipping level and will always require a $29.99 surcharge.

How can I change, modify, or cancel an existing order?

Depending on where your order is in the process we can help you.  Please email sales@saltwateraquarium.com with your request.

Are any countries restricted from ordering?

We ship to almost all countries, depending on the items orders.  There are lots of restrictions when shipping internationally.  We don't attempt to ship anything alive, anything glass, some liquids or anything that contains animal parts international.

Can I place an order over the phone?

Sure just give us a ring at 1-888-700-1012 during business hours.  8-4 M-F EST.

Can I order preorder items and in-stock items at the same time?

Absolutely.  We will split off your order, ship the in stock items and hold the preorder until inventory arrives.

Can I ship to a different address after an order has been processed?

By signing up for the free services My USPS and UPS My Choice, you can control your delivery to fit your schedule:

  • UPS My Choice – In most cases, it is possible to waive signature requirements or instruct UPS to hold your package at a local carrier center.
  • My USPS – Allows you to give the delivery driver instructions on where to leave your package at the shipped location.

Can I shop online and pick up my order in-store?

Yes! The majority of items on our website can be made available for in-store pick-up depending on where you live and where the products ship from.

You may place an order over the phone for in-store pickup by calling (888) 700-1012 during our normal store hours.

All orders made over the phone are eligible to earn rewards points if you have a Saltwater Rewards Account. You cannot checkout online and retroactively opt for in-store pickup.

Do you have a wholesale, bulk, or business-to-business program?

Saltwater does offer a wholesale/bulk business-to-business program that may offer better pricing for qualifying orders. Please click here to contact one of our sales account managers for more information and to get started.

Do you require a signature for delivery?

Our software will determine if a signature is required based on a number of factors.  Value of the shipment, previous order history, delivery address, etc.  Some items will require a signature for delivery.

At all times, signature requirement is sometimes subject to the driver who is delivering the package at that time.

How are your shipping rates calculated?

During checkout, shipping rates and estimated delivery times are retrieved in real-time from the shipping rate's respective carrier. Please note that these dates are estimates and are subject to change based on weather conditions, carrier issues, accidents, etc. We cannot control issues with the carrier and are unable to refund any shipping costs if the package is delayed or lost due to a carrier issue.

Some services, such as FedEx Priority Overnight have guaranteed delivery dates and times. In an event that your package does not arrive within the guaranteed window, please contact us and we will work with you to get the issue resolved.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

All orders (except some dropship partners and large fish tanks) are typically shipped within 1-2 business days from the time that the order is placed.

You will receive an e-mail notification once your order has been shipped.

Order before 1:00 PM EST Monday through Friday for same-day processing.

Is there an order minimum on your website?

No there is no minimum order size.

What shipping methods do you use when choosing the free shipping option?

We rate shop each order, so usually we will use the cheapest option until the shipment is of a higher value nature.  Then we will use UPS or FedEx almost exclusively.

Where can I view my past orders?

Click on Sign In/Register or My Account in the top right of the screen on a Computer or on a phone click the hamburger navigation (3 lines top left) then scroll down the navigation to Sign In.

Does SaltwaterAquarium.com have a physical retail store?

No we do not have a retail store at this time, only a series of shipping warehouses.
